RED-EYE IMAGE FORMATS

RED-EYE IMAGE FORMATS

Here we finally can see the differences between file formats and the effects they have on photos

This gif photo looks low quality with pixellations and shading off just enough for the eye to notice.

This jpg file is smoother, better pixelated and holds like stronger, by far the best format for photos.

This png file while better than gif is lacking some what, the colors are lighter and not as rich and while this is acceptable it is not the best.

This is a true test of file formats and the effects they have on pictures, while our last example was lacking in difference this one is easily readable and shows how each file format effects photos. Here we are taking the original Ball.tif and saving it in another format (jpg)

GIF

Here the Gif format ask how we would like to save the gif, with comment or interlaced.

PNG

PNG asks for the compression level, we chose the max

Here we have the finished product in .gif form

And jpg...

and PNG...

and the original .tif file

I don't see a drastic change in quality in any of the format types but I do have a feeling that a photo that is more pixelated would show a difference in quality between the formats.

This is an example of changing file formats and the difference that the formats have with picture quality. I found it difficult to find a true difference but also feel that with different pictures, different lighting, and different pixillations you would be able to tell the difference. Putting my name on the photo and preparing to add the text.

Adding the text with color after creating a rectangular region tool.

The final product saved and created.

This is Samus the trouble making cat and what we are doing here is adding text to a photo. To do that we first added a rectangular region area and then added the text, once the text was added I changed its color to red and created the final product (which is the final picture). It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. The course is called Discovering Computer Graphics. After adding my name I assess the photo for redeye.

Next we use the 'Color Picker Tool' to choose a color from the photo, this is the color we then use in with the paintbrush to cover up the redeye (notice the photo is zoomed to 600% to make the process easier).

Finally we take a look at the finished product to make sure it looks acceptable, which in my opinion it does.

This is a picture that suffers from redeye, and as we have all seen redeye can ruin great picture. What we are doing here is removing the redeye by zooming in on the image and taking a color that is already in the photo and then painting over the redeye. It is effective and also keeps the image looking realistic and not doctored. It is a midterm exercise from the Immersive Education course that I am taking at Boston College. As stated in the picture my name is Ryan Brissette and I am a senior here at BC. I am majoring in Information Systems and hoping to get into the INFOSEC area of which is what I did in the Navy. Hope you all enjoy this semester and I will be talking to you all soon.

Assignment 2-1: What is Immersive Education?

Dr. Walsh describing why he started the Immersive Education initiative and his goal to use these technologies to help bring education and education techniques to all those who could want them.

This is a clip about those on the autism spectrum disorder and how immersive learning was helping in their education. The online/virtual world experience helped educators gear the education toward singular students to get the best experience for each one.

These are virtual worlds where items are superimposed onto a virtual world which allows the student to interact with the object like he or she never would be able to in the physical world.

Class 1, Assignment 5

Hello, My Name is Ryan

Hello, my name is Ryan and I am a Senior at the Woods College majoring in Information Systems. Being that this is my last semester I am extremely excited to dive right in and get to work. I am also looking forward towards job prospects and possible certification that I will need to make me a marketable Information Security Analyst. What I have realized is while this may be the end of my journey at BC it is just the beginning of my journey on the career path. In all of my trials and tribulations I try to live by one mantra given to me by one Jeffrey Lebowski, I will leave that mantra in picture form below...
