Final Project: Group Old Boston Statehouse

Final Project: Group Old Boston Statehouse

I unfortunately was unable to attend Class 14 so I didn't get to build the Statehouse with my piers. I did lay the foundation in the previous class but since I couldn't help them during class I decided to go back afterwards and see what I could add. Obviously the main parts of the building were already built (and well done might I add) so I thought the best course of action for me would be to add details. The screenshots below will show those details.

The outside was masterfully done so I thought why don't I add something to the empty inside. So I did some digging and found a picture of the inside of the Old Boston Statehouse. It isn't great but it gave me an idea to work off of.

So I created the alter of sorts making sure to get the marble but also the small wood finish on top. I also made sure to encapsulate the window.

Then I went to work creating the pews or benches which seems to be where the people would congregate.

Here I am placing the wood on top of the white benches.

Working those benches...

If you look close to the picture on the right you can see that all the pews had doors of some sort so I decided to add a gate to each pew.

And the red banner that seems to be hanging from the stage area.

There is also a chandelier hanging from the ceiling so I began constructing that.

And the white chandelier hangs down.

I also decided to extend the pews back, making sure to leave room for both entrances.

heres the back pews...

again, adding gates...

Making sure they work...

A view from the back after everything has been added.

And from the back right while flying...

Here I tried to get the same view as in the picture to show its similarity.

I give you in the inside of the Old Boston State House.

This is group creation of the Old Boston Statehouse, while the outside was created during class I decided to add details and creation to a previously empty hall. The hall was recreated from the picture on the right to mimic what the Old Boston Statehouse looked like in doors. FINAL PROJECT STEP 2, PART 2: MY COMPLETED IMMERSIVE LIBRARY/MUSEUM

FINAL PROJECT STEP 2, PART 2: MY COMPLETED IMMERSIVE LIBRARY/MUSEUM

The final view of the Gold and Emerald statue.

The blue and red ore checkerboard statue.

The final view from the outside shows the "JENGA" design.

The view from the front shows (small) the moss filled cobblestone wall.

A view from the top shows the final view with a "Beacon to the Stars" in clear view.

A view from noon shows the top and inside.

The black and gold lobby statue with torches inside which double as eyes.

A view from the inside shows the construction and change in levels.

A solid view from of the Gold and Emerald statue.

The finished Glass Menagerie unfortunately the "Monsters" got all burned out.

This is the diamond "McDonald's Funhouse" sculpture.

Here is a view of the blue and red ore checkerboard statues.

And the beacon to the stars.

A view from the outside.

And from the distance.

And a different angle.

And from the front.

Again from a different angle yet distant.

And a picture of the moss cobblestone wall from the front.

This is 3D Library and Museum building final project which shows the end product of everything that I constructed. As fun as it was, I must say it is happy to see it finish up. Final Project: Local Old Boston Statehouse

Final Project: Local Old Boston Statehouse

* I have loaded these pictures three different times and they are still out of order.

Here I am laying the ground work by digging out an area for flat level terrain.

Cleaning off the snow, looks like New England isn't the only place that had a bad winter.

Laying the floor, half slab brick.

and building the brick walls to match the Old State House.

Continuing with the outside build making sure to capture the rectangular shape of the state house.

Here I am building the granite surrounding of the front door.

While continuing to go up and create the multi layers of windows.

Building the second story of windows here.

This is the view from the front of the building

Here I am creating the second story window in the back of the building, it is surrounded by a granite finishing so I added that.

This is more towards the beginning of the project but here I am digging out and creating the spaces for the windows on the side of the State House.

The view from up top is looking good, you can clearing see the peaks from both sides and soon I will start on the roof.

Again, adding glass to the framework.

A good view from the outside looking toward the back wall. You can see the multiple windows with a granite topper which is where the gray roof will begin.

Adding the granite topper to the opposite side.

Sorry for the dark but here I am finishing the granite and about to begin the roof.

I used a grey material to act as the shingles and gradually work my way up.

Continuing the process.

Here you can see in the light what is going on, the gray material staggers its way up to create the feel of a roof.

Birds eye view of the roof.

Here you can see the addition of the clock tower which protrudes directly from the center of the roof.

Giving it some finishing touches with an extension over all the windows.

All the way around, on both levels the extension goes.

Finished view from the front side.

and the back...

and the back side view...

and finally the front entry. I give you the Old State House.

This is a a 3D digital representation of the Old Boston Statehouse, I constructed it very carefully to match (as best I could) the real version. I tried to add as much detail as possible and as honestly as possible recreate the building. The size is a little off but overall it is pretty well put together and gives the casual user a good representation of the building.
